A Cat In The Kitchen

Image
It was a dark night when a sound in the kitchen caught my attention. I got up from my bed, feeling uneasy and slightly frightened. I tiptoed towards the kitchen, trying to make as little noise as possible. As I entered the kitchen, I saw that the window was slightly open, and the curtains were fluttering in the cool breeze. The moonlight shone in, illuminating the room in a soft glow. I could hear the sound again, but this time, it was louder, like something was moving around. I cautiously walked towards the kitchen counter, and as I got closer, I saw that the source of the sound was a stray cat that had managed to get into the kitchen through the window. It was rummaging through the trash can, searching for food. Feeling relieved that it was just a harmless animal, I slowly approached the cat, hoping not to startle it. The cat turned around and looked at me with its big, green eyes, and for a moment, we stared at each other. I slowly backed away and walked towards the window, intendin...

House For Rent

What is it about a house for rent that makes people want to jump into it? Is it the fact that you are paying a monthly rental fee but can stay there for a couple of months without having to pay for any sort of security or other nightly fees? Is it the simple fact that it is a house for rent that does not require that you pay a mortgage and can be let out as long as you keep up with your upkeep? All of these are good reasons why many people are opting to rent out their homes. One thing about houses for rent is that the rent is often cheaper than if you were to buy a house and live there yourself. This is something that can be very enticing, especially when you consider the fact that there are often amenities like a garden or a swimming pool included in the monthly rent. Another factor that can make this an attractive option is that many of them are in close proximity to the amenities that are available to those who own houses. For instance, there is a house for rent in New York City t...

A flood encouraged us to make home improvements

Just a year ago our house was flooded by a tropical storm, there was too much rain. It was amazing how much damage six inches of water could do to a house. We needed major repairs to our house, so we have to hire a contractor to do what should be done. Since the house was being repaired before the flood, we decided to make some cosmetic changes. My husband and I talked about those changes before the flood happened. The first thing we agreed to do was add recessed lighting to our master bedroom and living room. It confuses me why the home builder was unable to add lighting to these two rooms. My husband had always hated how dark these rooms were. We put six LED lights in our bedroom and four more in the living room. These rooms are now much brighter and I love being in them now. After that, we talked to our contractor about taking down the wall in our kitchen and dining room. He said that the wall in question was not a load-bearing wall and it went down. He replaced the wall and extende...
