Don't be pushed by your problems. Be led by your dreams…

The centerpiece of modern Thanksgiving in the United States, Canada and in many other countries is Thanksgiving dinner, usually a big, main dish, usually centered around a large roasted, gooey turkey. Americans tend to eat more than they'd like or be able to in one sitting, so Thanksgiving dinners tend to be larger than usual. In Canada, Thanksgiving dinners are smaller, more intimate affairs, more like family gatherings. In the United States, Thanksgiving dinners seem to get larger every year, as restaurants and catering companies add Thanksgiving side orders to their menus to make up for the lower levels of sales at Thanksgiving time. In either case, Thanksgiving dinners seem to be one of the biggest causes of weight gain and obesity in the U.S.
One of the most popular Thanksgiving recipes is the classic cranberry apple recipe, first introduced way back in 1834. The recipe was originally made with rhubarb and water, but today it's made with apple and water. The cranberry apple is very delicate in taste, almost minty, with a slight tartness to it. Many people think that thanksgiving dinner is just not a good time without this delicious appetizer.
Another favorite of thanksgiving recipes is the traditional thanksgiving dinner menu created by Anna H. Johnson, who was the wife of Johnson Brothers, who owned candy stores in New York City. Anna was often invited to thanksgiving dinners, along with her daughters, and these dinners included a variety of different dishes. At first, no one could agree on what to eat, and it was almost like a charity meeting. The ladies would ask for vegetables, and the gentlemen would try to serve them the best they could. It was Anna's genius that when she cooked the food, she would send the husband coupons for the ingredients, which he used to cook them.
One of the classics on the traditional thanksgiving dinner menu is the turkey. Many people have their favorites variety of turkey, and some even prefer making their own versions. One thing you can do is experiment with different sauces to give your turkey that special flavor. Cranberry sauce is excellent with turkey, and also works great with pumpkin pie. You can also add the traditional turkey spices, salt and pepper, and mix up your own dry rub to give your turkey that sweet, fresh, herb-filled flavor.
Other dishes that are sure to be on the Thanksgiving menu for years to come are the potato salad and the baked beans. A baked beans recipe makes a great complement to the Thanksgiving dinner, and also makes a wonderful side dish for other dishes. There are plenty of recipes that can be found on the internet and in books that will have your family eating potatoes and rice for dinner for the next several years to come.
If you need to save money for the holidays, or just want to treat yourself, then you should make pumpkin dinner rolls at home. They are easy to make, and the ingredients can be found in any local grocery store. All you have to do is to cut up all of your vegetables, and put them in a zip bag. Put the vegetables into the bag, and either bread them up into a spiral style bag, or put them onto a preheated skillet. You have the perfect fall breakfast, and will have your whole family raving about your thanksgiving recipe.
